32”D ADA Fire Ring with 300” Sq. 4-Level Adjustable Cooking Grate

This wheelchair accessible campfire ring features a flat rear panel so wheelchairs can have closer access to the cooking grate and adjustment handles. The 300-sq.-inch cooking grate adjusts to 4 levels between 19” and 24” above the ground. This fire ring design allows the grate to be adjusted one side at a time, using only one hand-without tight grasping, pinching, or twisting of the wrist - and does not exceed 10 lbf. to lift.

The fire ring is made of 3/16”-thick steel, with a 1” formed flange for strength and safety. The adjustment panels are 3/16” steel, and also serve as heat shields. The cooking grate is welded together using 5/8”Dia. handle/support bars and 1/2”Dia. grate bars, and includes handle grips of 1/8” x 1/2” coiled steel.

The fire ring is filled with aggregate (not included) to about 10½” deep to provide the elevated fire surface. Drain/draft holes are provided around the perimeter of the fire ring. The finish is high-temp non-toxic Black Powder Coated paint. Pin anchors provide a fixed location.Covered grills retain the smoke and heat to give foods a great smoked flavor. Covers also keep rain and snow out of the firebox to help prevent rusting and to prolong the life of the grill.

Adjustable vents on the firebox furnish draft control and vents on the cover control smoke containment and venting.

A patented standard base attachment provides further draft control by allowing 360-degree rotation of the grill. Full rotation, combined with the full contact rear edge between cover and firebox, also creates an effective windbreak to control smoke direction when the cover is open.

The firebox, made of plate steel, resists heat warpage. Both firebox and cover have a 1” formed flange to provide a flat, stable closing surface around the perimeter and to provide strengthening reinforcement to the grill halves. The grill cover tips back on sturdy hinges with a heavy handle equipped with a commercial duty, coil spring grip conveniently located for ease of use. The cover is maintained in the tipped back, open position by a bracket with a built-in safety stop to prevent the cover from closing without deliberate action by the user.

Another handle equipped with a coil spring grip allows the cooking grate to be tipped back for convenient fire building and ash clean out. The grate handles are situated so that when the cover is closed the cover handle above the grate handle acts as a stop to prevent tipping the cooking grate.

The fire grate is designed to keep hot coals off the firebox to resist heat warpage and improve draft control. The fire grate, while permanently attached, can be lifted up for easier clean-out. A handy clean-out hatch for ash removal is provided in the end of the firebox.

Note: Grills and fire rings will need extra maintenance in corrosive environments such as the seashore.
