It is Highland Product Group’s policy to respect and protect the privacy of our customers and the users of our web sites (www.highlandproductsgroup.com; www.theparkcatalog.com; www.thesportcatalog.com; and all affiliated sites, hereinafter referred to as "the Site"). Through this Privacy Statement, we want to reassure users of the Site that we will not sell, share, or rent user information to others in a manner different from that set forth in this Privacy Statement.
By accessing this Site, you agree to be bound by the Privacy Statement. If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Statement, please do not use this Site. Each time you use the Site, the current version of the Privacy Statement will apply. Accordingly, when you use the Site, you should check the date of this Statement (which appears at the top) and review any changes since the last version.
Placing Orders and Information Collection
Highland Products Group collects information from the users of the Site at several different points on the Site. For example, we collect and/or request information when a user:
Places an Order
Registers on the Site
Requests notification of an order status
Participates in an online sweepstakes or survey
Requests a Catalog
Submits an E-mail
In order to fulfill the requests of Site users in the above instances, the user may be asked to provide contact and/or credit card information. If we have trouble processing an order, a request, or completing a delivery, this contact information will be used by Highland Products Group to contact the user.
Gathering and Sharing of Information, Links to External Websites
We monitor traffic patterns on the Site for aggregate use in order to analyze trends and administer the Site so that we can improve its layout and design and permit Site personalization and streamlining to create the best shopping experience possible for our users. In order to perform analysis permitting such personalization and improvement of Site design and user experience, we may employ suitable third parties with whom we share the information necessary to accomplish these objectives. These statistics include no personally identifying information.
Where appropriate, we may share aggregated statistical information with our business partners. These statistics include no personally identifying information.
We use outside suppliers and delivery companies to assist in fulfilling and delivering orders. We share with them the information necessary to enable fulfillment and delivery of goods (i.e., name, address, and product order information). These third parties agree not use your information for their own marketing purposes.
Highland Products Group may share e-mail addresses with reputable third parties in order to help Highland Products Group provide better service to consumers.
We may provide personal identifying and account information only in special cases such as enforcement of our Terms of Site Use, or as required by law or legal process to protect and defend the rights and safety of our Site and its users. This includes exchanging information with other companies for purposes of fraud and credit risk reduction.
Except as described above, Highland Products Group will not share, sell, or rent users’ personal or credit information to any unaffiliated third parties.
Strong precautions are taken to protect the information of the users of our Site. When users submit sensitive information via the Site, that information is protected both online and off-line.
We take credit card information security seriously and use a variety of technical solutions to make shopping safe at our Site. Your information is encrypted and is protected using the industry standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption software. While on a secure page, such as our order form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when you are just ‘surfing’.
While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also protect user information off-line. All of the information of our Site's users, including the sensitive information mentioned above, may be accessed only by those of our employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, our account or customer service representatives). Furthermore, our employees are kept up to date on our security and privacy practices.
Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. IN NO EVENT SHALL HIGHLAND PRODUCTS GROUP BE LIABLE FOR SPECIAL, INDIRECT, EXEMPLARY, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, LOSS OF USE, DATA, OR PROFITS, WITHOUT REGARD TO THE FORM OF ANY ACTION, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO CONTRACT, NEGLIGENCE, OR OTHER TORTIOUS ACTIONS, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE USE, COPYING, OR DISPLAY OF THE CONTENTS OF THIS SITE, EVEN IF HIGHLAND PRODUCTS GROUP OR AN AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE OF HIGHLAND PRODUCTS GROUP HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
If you have any questions about the security at our Site, you can send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Surveys and Contests
From time to time, we may request information from users of the Site via surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary, and users of the Site always have the choice of whether or not to disclose this information. Information requested may include contact information (such as name, e-mail address, and shipping address), and demographic information (such as zip code, etc.). We use such information to notify contest winners, award prizes, and analyze the Site’s traffic to improve the Site. Participants agree to receive e-mail, postal mail, and, in some cases, telephone contact from Highland Products Group, from all of which they may later unsubscribe.
Children's On-line Privacy
Highland Products Group recognizes the particular importance of protecting the privacy of children. Consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we will not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. When a user makes a purchase on www.highlandproductsgroup.com or one of our associated websites, the user is representing to us that they are an adult. If a child has provided www.highlandproductsgroup.com with personally identifiable information, we ask that a parent or guardian call 1-800-695-3503 and we will delete the information pertaining to the child from our records.
Special Offers, Account Updates, and Opting Out
Highland Products Group occasionally sends our customers and the users of the Site announcements and updates that contain information about the Site’s product and service offerings that we believe to be of value to our customers and users. In order to do this, we may enhance or merge the information we collect on the Site with data from third parties for purposes of marketing products or services to our customers and users.
We may communicate with the users of the Site via e-mail, fax, telephone, or postal mail in order to provide requested services, product information, notification of special offers, or in regard to customer service or payment issues relating to an account.
Our e-mail messages have an “unsubscribe” feature for users of the Site who buy from us but don't want to receive e-mail about special products and offers. Users can simply click on an “unsubscribe” link located at the top of the e-mail they receive, and that e-mail address will be removed from our e-mail list.
Users who do not wish to continue to receive Highland Product Group’s catalogs and other postal mailings can e-mail, fax, or send us by postal mail the address label from their latest catalog or the information contained on the label. In addition, users who have an account on the Site can opt out of receiving postal mail by emailing us at: email@example.com.
Users of the Site can always update the personally identifying information that they have provided to Highland Products Group simply by accessing and updating their account information on the Site or by e-mailing us at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
