aluminum bleachers The Park and Facilities Catalog now offers a new line of high-quality aluminum bleachers in several sizes and styles

The Park and Facilities Catalog is pleased to announce it now offers a new line of high-quality aluminum bleachers manufactured in a newly-built, state-of-the-art 70,300 sq. ft. facility.

The bleachers come in a variety of sizes such as 3-row, 4-row, 5-row, 10-row and 15-row and are all manufactured in the USA with top-grade anodized aluminum plank seating.

"We are very excited to be able to offer these aluminum bleachers to our customers," said Chris Luyet, Vice President and General Manager of The Park and Facilities Catalog. "The craftsmanship and detail that goes into designing and manufacturing this selection of aluminum bleachers is just superb. This assures our customers that they are installing top-tier bleachers at their facility."

The plant follows strict 5S workplace practices and features state of the art laser cutting, welding, warehousing and packing stations.

This line of aluminum bleachers already seats spectators at a number of high-profile venues. They include: Ohio State University, Illinois State University, Indiana State University, Penn State University, University of Notre Dame, Indianapolis Colts, Minnesota Vikings, Edwards Air Force Base and numerous other facilities.

Particular attention is made to manufacturing high-quality seating. The seat planks are converted into anodized aluminum which is considered to be the best finish for aluminum bleachers because it is corrosion-free, durable and will not scratch, flake or peel.

This protective coating is achieved by an electrochemical process that penetrates right into the aluminum substrate, so the anodic oxide actually becomes integrated into the planks. This process results in a 30-year life expectancy for the structure. Plus, minimal maintenance is required for anodized aluminum. The planks can basically be cleaned with just soap and water.

These bleachers are not only ideal for college, high school, middle school, and elementary athletics but also for parks and recreation sports complexes, fitness centers, golf courses, horse parks, church grounds, parade routes, race tracks, fairgrounds, sports training facilities and concert arenas.

Sizes range from 3-row to 15 row. The bleachers also come in 5-row and 10-row elevated versions.

For easy to move aluminum bleachers, managers can order tip and roll bleachers with wheels that can be rolled by hand.

Large portable bleachers come in 5-row and 10-row versions and they can be moved by a tractor to different parts of the grounds (although they cannot be transported on an open highway.)

Aluminum bleachers comply with IBC standards

All bleachers are International Business Code 2012 compliant. The IBC provides a set of national standards written by the International Code Council for various structures so that there is a set of criteria that quality manufacturers can follow to ensure safety and reliability nationwide.

In addition, the aluminum bleachers for sale are made with a high degree of recycled aluminum content. This is critical for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) credits and guidelines.

For example, the aluminum billet is made with 38.95% recycled content, 31.23% pre-consumer and 7.72% post-consumer. This meets LEED requirement MR Credit 4 for materials with recycled content where the sum of the post-consumer content plus one-half of the pre-consumer content constitutes at least 10% or 20% (according to cost) of the value of the materials in the project.

When selecting bleachers, it's important to cover the following considerations:

  1. Location
  2. Size - generally the rule of thumb is that the average seat is 18" wide per person. Multiply the number of expected spectators by this amount to determine the number of seats and rows required.
  3. Access - how will you provide Americans with Disabilities Act wheelchair access?
  4. Sightlines - will you have adequate viewing angles?
  5. Non-elevated or elevated - do you need to increase the height of the bleachers so spectators have a better sightline to the activity on the field?
  6. Loads - take into consideration capacity for live loads, dead loads, wind loads and seismic loads.
  7. Safety Rails - Do you need guardrails, handrails or vertical picket guardrails?
  8. International Building Code - be sure the aluminum bleachers are IBC compliant. The latest code change was implemented in 2012.
  9. Slip resistance - be sure the bleachers meet Static Coefficient of Friction (SCOF) standards as established by the National Floor Safety Institute.
  10. Local and State Codes - Check with local and state government agencies to be sure the aluminum bleachers and installation comply with current codes and standards.

The Park Catalog also offers a full line of amenities for spectator venues. Those amenities (some also manufactured with aluminum) include team benches, press boxes, scorers' tables, shade structures, bike racks, trash receptacles and picnic tables,

"This new selection of aluminum bleachers shows our commitment to continually strive to provide better and safer products for our customers," said Luyet. "The aluminum bleachers are top-of-the-line and have a proven track record of reliability and durability at thousands of facilities across the country."
